If you haven’t been living under a rock over the last couple years chances are you have seen at least one video that has been released on the McJuggerNuggets YouTube channel. Jesse is mainly known for his “Psycho Series” that includes his dad destroying his shit because he refuses to get a job and insists that gaming will be his job.

Many people have questioned how “real” Jesse’s videos actually are. There have been several videos that have been put out breaking down some of the little things that point to the videos being staged to some extent.

Regardless of what you think about the videos and whether they are completely staged or not Jesse is a truly brilliant filmmaker. The fact that some of his videos have been staged doesn’t mean as much to me as the amount of people that wonder if they are staged. There have been several people on YouTube that make videos calling the police department in Jesse’s hometown that claim that he is in some sort of actual danger. Jesse has been able to blend reality and fiction in a way that many Youtubers before him have been able to do.

Just check out some of these chumps that actually think that some of his stuff is real enough to call the cops about it.

I think most of the success of his channel can be attributed to the fact that his content reflects a situation that is felt in the younger generation of our society. I know I played many games in my younger years and I can imagine how I would have felt about it if I had someone like Jesse to watch at a younger age when I was more impressionable.

I have a lot of respect for what he has been able to do with the channel. I have no doubt that YouTube is his main job and he talks about the money that he gets paid from YouTube, but doesn’t really talk about the money that would be made from the Etsy store, or more recently marketing for companies like Audible. He has built multiple income streams that all stem from his YouTube channel, and also made his friends and family become successful YouTubers themselves. Jesse’s methods have been so successful that he has spawned a whole subculture of YouTubers that post “psycho” videos with other people just outright copying his model of success.

It doesn’t really matter to me if he is fake or not. I have major respect for what he has been able to accomplish and in my opinion, he has become one of the most creative YouTubers of all time. I don’t think that is “fanboyish” of me to say, as I have never watched a Youtuber like Jesse that keeps me coming back as if it were a show on T.V. He doesn’t do just normal vlogs as he lets on. The value of the channel resides in the fact you have to keep tuning in to see what happens, just on the off chance that Psycho Dad might destroy something.

Jesse took all of the types of things that made YouTubers successful and blended them into a masterpiece of a series that has been ongoing for a while now. Destruction videos have always been a thing on YouTube as well as different well-known vloggers. He also has managed to incorporate skits in a way that isn’t the annoying SNL style of skits like Shane Dawson used to do. Indeed, some days we do just get simple vlogs then other days we have more entertaining skits pretending to be just simple blogs. The skits themselves usually have subtle aspects to them that lead towards a viral response. It’s masterful work of art that he has been putting out into the world and I’ll be tuning in to see what happens next.
